Cyber Monday 2026 arrives at an unusually interesting moment for AirPods shoppers.

For only $20 more at Apple’s current pricing, the upgraded version adds:

Apple rates this version for up to five hours with ANC on, with up to 22 hours using the charging case.

Which AirPods 5 Version Makes More Sense?
At full Apple pricing, the difference is only $20.
That makes the Wireless Charging Case version unusually easy to justify if you value even two of these features:
wireless charging,
volume swipe,
longer battery life,
or the Find My case speaker.
The basic $129 model becomes more compelling when Amazon discounts it more aggressively.
This is exactly why Cyber Monday price gaps matter more than percentage discounts.
Suppose the $129 model receives a deep sale but the $149 model barely moves. The cheaper model could become the obvious value.
If both drop by roughly the same dollar amount, the $149 version may still be worth paying slightly more for.
We should let the actual Cyber Monday gap answer that question.
AirPods 5 Are Too New for Meaningful Discount History
Unlike AirPods Pro 3 or AirPods Max 2, AirPods 5 do not yet have months of Amazon price history.
They reached stores only on September 18, 2026.
That means CRAOB should be particularly careful about “lowest price ever” language this year.
A $10 or $20 reduction may technically be the lowest price yet simply because the product has existed for only a few weeks.

Why Cyber Monday pricing needs a high bar
AirPods Pro 3 have already received aggressive discounts during 2026.
Amazon dropped them to $179 in June, down from Apple’s $249 price.
An early Prime Day promotion later pushed them to $169, which MacRumors tracked as a record low at the time.
After Prime Day, they repeatedly returned to around $199.99 on Amazon.
Those numbers matter.
If Cyber Monday brings AirPods Pro 3 to $199, that can still be a perfectly reasonable purchase—but it would not be an unprecedented price.
A deal approaching their earlier 2026 lows deserves much more attention.

Choose AirPods Pro 3 when:
Noise cancellation is a major priority.
You fly or commute frequently.
You prefer the seal created by silicone ear tips.
You want heart-rate sensing during workouts.
You want Apple’s hearing-health features.
You need significantly longer single-charge ANC battery life.
Apple currently says AirPods Pro 3 provide up to 3x more ANC than AirPods 5.
That is a substantial hardware/use-case difference, not simply a premium badge.
AirPods Pro 3 Are Particularly Interesting for Exercise
AirPods Pro 3 introduced heart-rate sensing during workouts.
Apple says users can measure heart rate and track more than 50 workout types through the Fitness experience on iPhone.
They also use a redesigned fit intended to improve stability during activities such as:

For someone who does not own an Apple Watch, that fitness functionality can add meaningful value.
Someone who already wears an Apple Watch during every workout may care less.

Color pricing can vary at third-party retailers, so Cyber Monday shoppers should check every acceptable color rather than searching only one.
Do Not Pay $549 Without Checking Recent AirPods Max 2 Sale History
AirPods Max 2 have already demonstrated that the $549 Apple price is not necessarily the price you need to pay.
Amazon dropped AirPods Max 2 to $449 in July 2026, a $100 reduction.
In August, Amazon and Best Buy pushed them to $429, which was among the strongest prices seen since June.
That means:
$499 on Cyber Monday would not be especially compelling.
$449 would match ordinary strong-sale territory we’ve already seen.
Pricing meaningfully below those previous sale levels would deserve much more attention.

AirPods Max 2 or AirPods Pro 3?
These products are more different than their position in Apple’s lineup suggests.
AirPods Max 2 make sense for:
long listening sessions,
over-ear comfort preferences,
home and office listening,
travelers who prefer full-size headphones,
and users who want wired USB-C lossless/low-latency audio.
Apple rates them for up to 20 hours of listening with ANC enabled.
AirPods Pro 3 make sense for:
pocketability,
gym use,
running,
sleeping while traveling,
strong in-ear noise isolation,
and lower price.
If Cyber Monday puts Pro 3 near $170–$200 while Max 2 remains above $400, these are still products for completely different buyers.
Do not buy Max simply because its dollar discount is larger.
AirPods 4 Become Clearance Products in the 2026 Article
Apple’s current AirPods comparison page now centers on:
AirPods 5,

AirPods Pro 3,
and AirPods Max 2.
That moves AirPods 4 into previous-generation/retailer-clearance territory.
Amazon may still have inventory, and the correct price can make them worthwhile.

AirPods 4 Already Had Strong 2026 Discounts Before Being Replaced
In July 2026, Amazon sold the standard AirPods 4 for $99, down from $129, while AirPods 4 with ANC fell to $148.99 from $179.
Then Apple introduced AirPods 5 at:
$129 with ANC
and
$149 with ANC plus Wireless Charging Case and added controls/battery improvements.
That changes the value equation completely.
An AirPods 4 with ANC at around $149 makes little sense when the new AirPods 5 Wireless Charging Case model officially costs $149.
For old AirPods 4 inventory to be compelling after the AirPods 5 launch, the clearance price should reflect that generational change.
What About AirPods Pro 2?
Amazon and marketplace searches may continue surfacing older AirPods Pro 2 stock.

AirPods Pro 3 now deliver stronger ANC, longer battery life, improved fit and heart-rate sensing.

condition,
whether the product is new or renewed,
and whether the listing is genuine U.S. inventory.

That is unusually strong differentiation for only $20.
But Cyber Monday may alter the gap.
If Amazon discounts the standard AirPods 5 by $30 but takes only $10 off the premium case model, the less expensive pair becomes more attractive.
Always compare the sale-price difference, not today’s MSRP difference.
Live Translation Is Now Available Across the Current AirPods Lineup
Apple’s current lineup supports Live Translation on:

AirPods are popular enough that Amazon search results may include:

older generations,
marketplace sellers,
and listings with nearly identical names.
Before ordering, check:

- and return policy.

Do You Need AppleCare+?

That final test is particularly important.
Should You Wait Until Cyber Monday Instead of Buying on Black Friday?
Only when the Black Friday price is weak.
There is no rule saying Monday must beat Friday.
Retailers may:
keep the same price through the entire weekend,
change the discount,
sell out of one model,

or change which color of AirPods Max receives the best price.

The AirPods 5 are the biggest change for Cyber Monday 2026.

For many iPhone users who dislike silicone tips, either version may now be all the AirPods they need.
